Music From Scratch- Ma Vlast & Jurassic Park
UHO were thrilled to invite musicians from the surrounding counties to our play. We were amazed that players from as far as Caernarfon, Liverpool and Nottingham joined us for a fun filled day of music. There was a sense of great joy through the day as we explored the above two orchestral scores and the additional William Tell.
The day was organised into orchestral and sectional rehearsals, with a concert performance in the evening. Whilst initial orcehstral rehearsals revealed the freshness of the msuic to players, the rehearsals in sections soon enabled players to get to grips with challenges within each part. Three conductors led the sectional rehearsals, providing wonderful encouragement and enthusiasm that we trust, allowed growth of confidence whilst engendering a true enjoyment of the music throughout the day.
The performance in the concert revealed the joy and delight that all members of the orchestra experienced. A truely uplifting experience that completed a seriously enjoyable day.
