Autumn 2025 to Spring 2026

Updated: Sep 1, 2025

We were thrilled to get great affirming feedback from our audience after the concert in June 2025. We had celebrated the renovation of St Marks Church together with the Audley Male voice choir. Audience members had commended the concert as one of they had enjoyed most. The performance of the choir under the leadership of Christopher Cromar and performances of UHO, together with the rich and beautiful voices of Mike Barnett and Jane Bailey, were varied and inspiring.

We are looking forward to the Autumn and Winter seasons with an exciting programme of events planned. In addition to performing an unbeat programme at Trentham Gardens on September 27th and a Christmas Concert on December 13th, we are planning a new and exciting challenge; A Play Day on January 10th, 2026 at Newcastle Baptist Church when we will explore two/ three larger scores of music, in a relaxed all-day rehearsal followed by a concert. We hope that many musicians will take the opportunity to join us and take the opportunity to explore larger works that would not possible during shorter rehearsals. We hope to be looking at Jupiter, Harry Potter & Possibly Scherherazade. (See Upcoming Events for further details of all events).

We have enjoyed many new members joining us of the summer holidays as we have continued to rehearse over these weeks. The rehearsals have been enjoyed by everyone. We are hoping many more musicians will join our very friendly orchestra over this coming term as we will continue our tradition of playing a wide range of music; from 'Sound of Music' by Rogers and Hammerstein to 'Jurassic Park' by John Williams, 'Light Cavalry' by Von Suppe' to 'String of Pearls' by Glen Miller.

We are especially looking for brass and string players joining our ranks. If you play the trumpet/ cornet and trombone, horn or saxophone; Violin, cello or double bass, we have a space for you. All other instruments are also very welcome.
