As Disney celebrates 100 years of entertainment the orchestra would like to add its touch to the festivities with a sparkling and thrilling concert.
The music of Disney has touched the lives of all generations, bringing the music that gets your feet tapping to jazzy rhythms of a party hosted by King Louis, as a tear comes to your eye when watching romantic when Belle falls for the Beast. It has also set the scene to sinister scenes of those best loved villains or the heart pounding music that accompanied the actions of swash buckling heroes. The music that formed the life blood of cartoons and film alike, was composed by amazingly talented composers, home grown and special guests such as Elton John and Peter Andre. Certainly amongst the most memorable of films was Fantasia that use the scores of classical masters to create the stories that accompanied these tales.
The members of UHO were thrilled to bring you a programme of music that blends all of these elements, mixed with the magical voices of Jane Bailey and Mike Barnett, sprinkled with a hint of big band to present a wonderful evening of music.
A wonderful audience joined us on Sunday 17th November at Keele University Chapel.
